- You can confirm the Pakayak you received is in fact the lightweight Bluefin by looking at the stamp on the box that begins with the color of your kayak. You will see a model number that begins with BF142, if it ends in LT your boat is indeed a lightweight Bluefin. If you no longer have the shipping box, you can check the logo on the stern section, if it does not have “142” after Bluefin, your kayak is a lightweight.
- The Bluefin is created from many individual components, each of which can have a +or- variation from piece to piece and this variation can account for a variation in the overall weight of individual kayaks.
- Also, it is possible that the scale you used is not calibrated and can be off by a few pounds as well.
